carb overflowing

Postby ericetz301 » Mon Apr 01, 2013 3:38 am

HELP !!!!
Ive had my `Mastiff` off the road for the last 6 months, drained fuel etc. now Im ready to get it back on the road and get it ready for the better weather ( some hopes!).
my problem is that when I put some fuel in when I turned the fuel tap on a few seconds latter the petrol is running out of an over flow ?
my guess is the float has stuck, but, getting the carb off looks like a massive job, as if the seat frame etc has to be removed to get any access.
so any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Eric.

Try giving the float chamber a sharp tap, this should free the float.

This may be a silly question, but you did screw the float bowl drain screw back in again after draining? :)

many thanks guys,
a combination of some `percusive adjustment` and an air line on the carb fuel pipie have solved the problem :D :D
cheers Eric.
