I ONLY cut the spring down on my Skorpion, It rev's straight round to 7200 RPM it's not asthmatic like a couple of bikes I've ridden.

Yeesh, I'm really, REALLY struggling to get the carbs off to try the cut spring modification (right side = the side without the throttle cables, correct?) How the HELL do you get them out?!

Removed the tank, I've disconnected everything but the choke cable, have loosened everything except the rail that keeps the carbs connected and the manifold boots on the cylinder head side (can't get at them with any tool on this planet earth, so the clamps from the carb to the boots is loosened completely)

I've even removed the primary bolt holding the subframe to get a little more wiggle room and they STILL won't come free. They can't possibly have been put in there with as bad of a design as it seems (who makes an enduro where fieldwork is basically impossible?) so what is the trick to getting the little bastards out?

I finally got the damned things free, found an ancient post where someone pulled the airbox boots back in about an inch, and after removing the clamps COMPLETELY, I got enough wiggle room to slip a screwdriver into the boot and wrestle it far enough out to get the spring free, clipped off two coils and put it back in (getting the left airbox boot back on was a pain) and took it for a spin

HOLY CRAP the asthmatic problem is completely gone. the power is smooth and linear all the way to redline now!

grrrr i think i will do that now.... had my crabs off last year.. it helps if you lower the rear subframe this involves dismounting the zorsty pipe though... more work. but it goes back on much sweeter... just the two top rear subframe bolts is enough to allow the subframe to drop..

did you alter the synchroniser screw too as this brings the other crab in to action earlier...
