Bob,
This is one of the reasons I've stayed with MZ's it's all the information and help available from fellow owners.
I'm confident I can have a go at servicing the rear suspension now, when it's needed.
Thanks.

David.

Hi,
It's time for me to strip down the rear of my skorp and I remembered your post. I was glad to find it again but the link no longer works. Is there any way to get a look at your strip down. As I remember it was very good.

Hi,

My grovelling and abject apologies. That writeup was hosted on webspace that we decided to ditch for business reasons - and it got vaped along with the defunct site it housed when we pulled the plug on the server ................... And to think I'm a supposedly professional IT techie. I shall have myself whipped with wet nettles at the earliest opportunity. All those wishing to participate, please form a (dis)orderly queue.

Here's the resurrected site - in a nice new home.

Skorp stripdown............

Sorry for the cock-up chaps. I can only plead insanitary ........................ :smt118

Regards
Bob Craske

Time and technology are my enemies David - and, as a fellow IT techie, you'll understand that, I'm sure. This would be a really good job - if it weren't for customers! :-D

Absolutely right Dave. I drove sixty eight miles one-way last month, on a Sunday and in a howling snow-gale, to a large Hotel's "server crash" (they haven't GOT a server - only peer-to-peer :? ) only to find that one of the owners had read a computer magazine late the previous evening, had a brain fart, and diligently changed all the login passwords on the main system accounts. Of course, he didn't tell anyone he'd done this - and then shut down all the machines and shoved off a long weekend with his family. Result? Nobody could access any of the PCs the following morning for bookings, for menus or for issuing web access tickets.

Cue a fun session of hacking ............. which I SHOULD have been able to do the comfort of my office - but of course nobody could start up the main machine to allow me remote access. :smt024

Lovely customers. Aaaaarrrgghh! At least the invoice was healthy.

i hate and love passwords
the computer i use to tend the mz site is an almost free laptop
i bought it at a fundraising sale
for $5 usd
it was locked by a password
friend used linux to erase it
and it runs as new the setup was on the hard drive in a hidden partition
took 4 hours to fix .. i did a fresh load of xp with all the last guys stuff missing including any virus
he had
to buy a used one running is about 350 usd
do be careful with those passwords people
