MOT & Big Thank You to Bill Jurgenson!

Postby Old Dog » Wed Nov 20, 2013 11:00 am

Well, today was the day, I had replaced all the bearings in the rear wheel checked and greased the linkage, changed the sprocket and chain (more in a minute) and had the electrics checked and overhauled and....SHE PASSED HER MOT!!

All I have to do now is to take the correct papers into town tomorrow and get the disc.

The trip to the MOT station was very interesting because, I had finally bitten the bullet and taken BIll Jurgenson's advice with 43 rear sprocket and a non O ring chain with a link and it has transformed the bike. She spins a little faster, her transmission now makes sense and you can get it into top and not have to tap dance all the time, she is even dare I say it a little flexible and forgiving.

Thank You BIll for some very sage advice!!
All the best

i found all 3 of my mz bikes geared to tall
there listed below in the signature
and the BMW R90/s i had 28 years was always geared too tall
any time you were in top gear you were breaking the speed limit here
