Frustrated with Ignitech! Grrrrrrr!!!

No matter what I try, I cannot get my Ignitech ignition to start my bike dependably. It's always been a pain in my ass so I usually run the OEM box. Just spent another half hour running between my bike and the computer in my office trying all of the different ignition advances between 0 and 12 degrees in 2 degree increments. NOTHING! Not even a pop from all of the raw fuel that is now in the exhaust. I'm hoping it's something simple like me accidentally changing a parameter in the software. If I plug the OEM box in, it fires up instantly. Does anyone out there have an Ignitech unit that is working as good as the OEM for starting and can you take the time to give me some settings from your software. The only thing I can think of that might be off is the dwell settings. That's where I'd like to start at least.

Mine worked perfectly out of the box, exactly the same as the stocker. If you PM me with your email i can send you the file as I ran it, or at least how I remember running it; my MZ was off the road this year. Alternatively, run the stock Yamaha xt600 program, I think its right in the software.

I wouldn't rule out a failed unit, but if it never ran right its more likely that some basic software setting is off.

I'll try the XT600 profile. It uses the auto dwell function, as opposed to the long dwell that mine was set on, and the pick up is set to auto as well, whereas mine was set to plus. Hopefully that will do it. Once started the box acts as it should. I'm wondering if it's not getting enough voltage while the starter is engaged. If the XT600 profile doesn't fix it, I'm going to hook up a separate power source.

Just tried to run it with a 14 volt power source. NADA! Tried what I assume to be the original settings as well as the XT600 profile. And the stock box still fires right up. I guess I'll check the continuity across the plugs on the Ignitech. There's a chance one of the pickup wires isn't working or possibly even the wire going to the coil.
