Inner tube on a Skorpion Sport

Guys has anyone stuck an inner tube in the stock Sport rims? I can get a Continental tube to fit 110/70. Just wondering if the rims are ok for the tube.

Low pofile tars dont like inner tubes ... OK having said that ...

I've slapped em a plenty on GS500's.
You name it, I've done it on a GS500.
I am not one to brag ... but my son may have been conceived on a GS500.

Front on GS is 110/70 - 17, rear is 130/70 - 17 and I have tubed both of em.

If you ride long stretches - may be a concern. But I'd guess you'd be done with the tar long before the tube gets anywhere near worn or melted.

do check your air pressure regular as i always found due to the kind of rubber in Continental tubes
they tend to loose air over time .. at least they did way back when i used them
what i liked about them was if they did go flat it was usually a slow surprise not a sudden one

and watch tires that are hard to get on the rim ..they are also the same ones that unmount if they go flat at speed
nothing like trying to get stopped when your on the rim

Each to his own i suppose but if you get a puncture in a tube it tends to go down PDQ as air escapes out the valve hole etc. On the other hand even if a plug fails it is unlikely to be any worse than the original puncture. Never had a repaired tubeless tyre fail though in 38 years of road riding. Also for road use a tubed tyre will tend to run a little hotter due to friction between the tube and tyre. Even trials bike run tubeless now as the pressures are so low the tyre can move on the rim and yank out the valve.

As a puncture repair to a tubeless tyre that holds air, it's a poor solution. If you've got alloys that don't hold air properly, they're a great solution.

In fact, Mastiffs and Baghiras come with tubes fitted to tubeless tyres from the factory.

One of my Skorps is running a tube in the rear as I can't stop it losing pressure over time. You do drop one letter off of the top speed rating of the tyre, but as my Skorp tyres are W rated (168 mph) I'm not losing any sleep over that.

The reason I asked about tubes wasn't because of a puncture. The front is losing air from the rim. Options are...Clean and paint inside of rim with a sorta rubber paint, which I believe can be sort of short to middle term repair or...Powder coat the rim, not cheap but long term solution or...wack a tube in it.

I'd probably have wacked a tube in it but it's the mussus's bike and she's decided to go with option 1, the rubber paint sorta thing. I can see from where the air's leaking that repair has already been done in the past. I reckon the repair has been disturbed enough to leak again when the new tyre went on recently. Either that or she bumped a kerb and disturbed it.

Oooo corrosion ??? Goop ??? you can clean the rim and get it to seal. I've had that happen too. Mine was build up of the beading compound and tire chunks over the 20 sets I put on that particular bike.
I'd not tube that one at all. Take off the thing and clean it with a wire brush or a wire wheel.
