Changing 125SM Monoshock

Guys,i was wondering what u guys think if i change my monoshock to a ktm200exc monoshock.....is it doable??will it work nicely??
Well...it's just an idea....

hehe jbthumper started his fantasy...... well i hope to put XR ohlins adj shock and XR engine into my SX hehehe... my 2cents of fantasy..

FWIW, Wilbers makes a shock for this bike. That's probably your best bet (unless the mod you listed was for financial reasons, e.g. you just happened to have one lying around).

well, doesn't the 200 use a PDS shock with no linkage? it may get a little funny running a position sensitive shock with a linkage system. you may find it not progressive, or the extreme ends of the stroke will be to far different. I would stay with a shock from a linkage system.

i found out a couple of months back that the 200exc shock is a linkage system...the thing is,the 125s' are not linkage type. So they are definitely a no go.

then i saw this 125SX(KTM) shock which does not use linkage. Same as the 125's system(position wise). However,the travel length is too long i think(haven't check though) in which i think will effect the bike's balance.


the stock ones are fine(for it's purpose). It's just an idea that i had :-)

p/s: where i live,it's easier to get KTM parts than any performance parts that are specificly for MZ.
