1972 MZ 175/2 Keihin Carburetor

Postby Osaday » Sat Mar 01, 2025 8:40 pm

I want to install a 1972 MZ 175/2 Keihin Carburetor, which was a legacy from my grandfather and father. Our motorcycle had constant carburetor problems. The carburetor we had was very old. Now I want to use a Keihin Carburetor while restoring the motorcycle. Do you recommend a Keihin Carburetor? Which model should I buy? Is pwk 32 keihin suitable? Since the motorcycle is at a restoration company in a different city, I do not have the chance to measure the manifold. I am waiting for your suggestions according to your experiences.

The link I'm thinking of purchasing from:

Hi.

32mm seems big for a 175 of that era.
I see there is one on Ebay at an extortionate price (In my opinion)

Thanks for your reply,

The price is too high and the product is used. It doesn't make sense to buy a used carburetor. Maybe the carburetor I'm going to buy used is like mine or worse.

Will the Keihin PKW32 be too big for my motorcycle? Will it not work properly? Has anyone tried it before?

I agree with you that the price of that is too high.
The carb on the 250 is only 30mm.

I know nothing about carbs or the es175 but for what it's worth the MZ parts book gives 26mm for the ES175/2.

I beleive the 175 has 26mm, and the 250 has 28mm.
