Focus

A general thought...
Like on the track try to focus on all these things that cause us to enjoy the moments that set us apart from the slugs of this tarmac we call the road. And focus on the times and experiances that are rightous, like the first time you put knee to pavement with your first set of slicks and the right suspension set-up...the good stuff!
Better rides,

Yes you, hello!
Some time ago I was following a thread and in it I believe you made availible a re-direct to Slipstreamtuning.com
I had to check it out and one of the pictures was a MZ Supermoto carrrying #9 at the starting line. I had to save and have it as a desk top so I can try to examine and learn. What is the bodywork used on this MC? Tank, radiator shouds, seat, side plates and fender? Rear subframe?
I understand and look forward to seeing what your MZ as others at this site salivate at the pictures you've shared so far!
Regards,
Robert

Hello buddy,
The MZ race Moto had totally custom made tank, subframe and used tank plastics from KTM i believe, same with front fender. The bike was running an 80BHP engine which we also run on our Supermono bike, as pictured on this thread! The bike was awesome but has since been stripped down. I'm currently awaiting delivery of my carbon bodywork and engine is about to go in, have a day at Brands Hatch this Sunday so the bike will be under way next week, anodising, etc will happen very soon and i hope this will be completed so that i can start my next project. I'm absolutely in love with my bike and that's the way it should be!!!! I've struck a great companion and she always puts a smile on my face, i can't wait to give her a new fancy dress and new shoes and a touch of jewellry....usually keeps the woman happy
Will be sure to give you guys a sneak preview soon!

Hi mate

When the Baggi motard waas stripped, did you manage to get hold of teh rear subframe and exhaust? They looked cool and teh subframe looked like it gave a sgnifcent weight saving.

RACE MOTO

Postby OLDMTNCARVER » Thu Oct 12, 2006 9:07 pm

Wonky,
Thanks for the info, the SM looked RIGHT!
My Baghira had to have an exhaust ASAP! So a Carbon M4 and jet kit was the start. Do you have any imput on a replacement carb, intake and air box for a stock engine? I'd like to get it happy!!!
Cool WFO but would like to see more tuneability, plugs show alittle rich.
Soon as that's sorted I'll have to follow you with the upended forks, alloy subframe, then maybe onto slicks wrapping carbon wheels, weight be gone...
On a lighter note, who makes the "GONE" boots, would they make me faster?!
Hey thanks for the info and enjoy Brands Hatch this Sunday,
OMT

I feel like a kid at xmas!!!!! :D :D :D :D

How much longer til the new bodywork is ready to show. I already have an USD frontend but would seriously like to change the ugly plastics.

Hi Keith how you doing mate? All good i hope, be sure to drop in for a chat and a cuppa soon dude. I actually own the entire bike buddy. I have everything left over in the workshop, spare wheels and tyres, modified frame and sub-frame, tank and a host of other parts. Donated some to the street project. Sit tight on the subframe though, when you see whats on my bike, if you like it that is!!!, you will be plesently surprised i think!

Oh yeh and i still have the twin pipes made by "Cookie", he makes all our race bike pipes and his works excellent. They are a tad loud for the road but i'm considering them for the street bike but might have to baffle them!

The frame was modified because of the down-drafted head used on the race engine, you coming to Brands Hatch on sunday? Supermono series and a few of our engines will be ripping up the tarmac!!!! :-D
Meet at mine for Bacon sarnies and Tea at 10AM then off to the pits....woooooh yeeeeah!

Hey buddy, glad you like the MZ mods. The only carbs to really use are the CR carbs. They are expensive, around £700, but they rock. To street tune use Carrillo rod, Wiseco Piston-102mm, 102mm bore, race cam,gas flowed head + the carbs and your bike will put a very huge smile on your face, or stains in your paints!!!! :-D

Carbon wheels are an option for me but i like the idea of spoked wheels, rebuilds are cheaper and although the Carbon would be true sickness, they would break the bank a little, but an option i am deeply considering!

The Carbon rear hugger, tail unit and front fender are being made right now. Due to the A360 super passenger plane and the 777 being made from Carbon, the price has increased 50% over here. The wings were made in Wales and used up many of the UK's resources. Larger sheets of Carbon needed to make larger pieces are costing huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge amounts so a custom tank will have to wait a while, which i'm gutted about!
Have you taken the bars off yours and trimmed the standard plastics yet? That looks ten times better!

Too right I have!

I've also fitted an Acerbis supermoto front fender, and I'm in the process of fitting an Acerbis headlight unit (one that straps to the forks) to complete the new slimline look. I have to say it looks waaaay better than the standard set up, especially as my bike was a Mastiff to start with ;-)

Didn't realise that there was Supermono's at Brands this weekend (my finger has been off the pulse, due to week holiday and then trying to catch up at work).

I'll come over (think my mate Rob may be racing, but can't get in contact with him at moment) if I can walk anywhere-did a days motorcross on Thursday (first time ever) and am as stiff as a board.

Working today and tonight, but will be at Brands mid morning. Any idea where you will be hanging around?

I'll also pop over in the next week or so about the wheels-we can discuss this tomorrow if I see you.

I'll look out for you-and yep, it's rob Hunt that i know. popped aroundhis on my way home and he will be there tomorrow, but not racing.

Ache like buggery now-but only in my thighs. Can't beleive i've not tried MX before, because I loved it when i thought i wuld hate it-only went as a bloke at work kept nagging me to as he needed to get the numbers. Suppose at 47 I should ache, seeing as I'm a lazy sod.
